AVID DigitalXP Benefits

Your AVID DigitalXP learning journey begins this summer. Choose from 30 tailored Communities of Practice, including offerings for first-time attendees and those returning to AVID DigitalXP. Explore sessions to view the catalog. This summer professional learning also includes community gatherings with student and educator speakers, providing daily inspiration and motivation, and  a new “AVID 101” session for participants who would like a stronger AVID foundation before engaging with specialized content in their Community of Practice.

Extended Learning Pathways

Extended Learning Pathways provide an additional opportunity to learn and collaborate with educators throughout the AVID world. Each pathway includes six hours of synchronous and asynchronous learning divided into two sessions. Sessions are scheduled a month apart, which gives you time to apply the learning in your classroom or school and return for the second session to celebrate accomplishments.

In the fall and then again in the spring, select from an array of topics that align with the most current educational research and trends.

Topics include…

  • Disrupting Deficit Narratives: A Call to Action
  • Accessing Rigor for All: Scaffolding Language and Literacy Development
  • Nurturing a Culture of Respect and Empowerment of Students
  • Digital Citizenship in a Globally Connected World
  • Harnessing Rigor: Using Literacy to Connect Content

Six 90-minute On-Demand Learning modules are included in your school-year Community of Practice. Each module includes new content and resources that you can explore at your convenience throughout the entire year.

Sample topics:

  • Culturally Relevant Approaches: From Theory to Practice
  • Increasing Rigorous Inquiry Through Socratic Seminar and Philosophical Chairs
